A motion sensor conserves battery life by deactivating the optic when not in use, while a light sensor automatically adjusts the 3 MOA red dot's brightness to ambient lighting conditions. The 3 MOA dot size is optimized for urban environments. The MECANIK MO1 also co-witnesses with iron sights. MECANIK considers the MO1 a highly efficient, reliable, and robust electronic sighting system.
