Makes hammocks and tarps a breeze!

When setting up my hammock, I use these and also use them for the tarp that I use over the hammock. Nice and easy to use and no knots but still able to get the ridge line and tarp itself nice and tight with little to no sagging. These carabiners make it easy to quickly readjust my hammock or tarp as well. I sleep in an ENO hammock under my Warbonnet Superfly tarp and sometimes have to break down camp quickly and these allow that, without having to cut ropes of mess around with tight knots in a hurry. They're small (2.6 x 1.7 inches) and light (0.5 ounces) and pack away easily. I clip several to one and throw them in the stuff sack for my hammock lines. All in all these things are worth their weight in gold for my applications. Highly recommended.

Great Little Took for Camp

I really like these little rope tighteners. I use them on a large tarp that I put up at campgrounds over the picnic table. use the carabiner side to clip to the (REI Trailbreak) tarp, and the rope cinch side for the guy lines. This is especially handy when you need to re-tighten the lines after a rain, or overnight. What is better is that even the most casual of camper can learn to participate in camp maintenance with these, they take less than a minute to demonstrate and understand (and even have the instructions printed directly on them!). I keep a full set in my tarp bag and highly recommend them.

Great for Tarps!

I use these to set up my tarps quickly and easily without using a single knot. I can get my ridge line very taught and my tarps very tight with little to no sagging. I like the fact that I can quickly readjust the tarp as well. I sleep in a hammock under my speer winter tarp and if the weather turns for the worst I like to be able to tighten up lights or quickly remove them and relocate them (like if I want to set my tarp up higher for shade or lower for rain protection). They're also very light and very strong (holds up to 50 pounds...plenty for my tarps). If it gets really windy out you might want to tie a slippery half hitch for peace of mind, but you can generally leave it be.

Easy to use

I bought these to secure my hunting blind. In addition to the seven ground fasteners, each wall has a loop in its center to be used for running a line to stake down the wall. All of the Nite Ize Figure 9 fasteners used to secure the wall tie-downs remained tight and in place, holding the hunting blind steady over night and for all of the next day in wind with measured 35 mph gusts.

Perfect for bear bag

This is definitely not for climbing, but is perfect for around camp. I'm great with knots, but few of my backpacking friends are. This allows me to quickly raise and lower the bear bag without having to unravel everyone's attempt at a clove hitch or two half hitches. It takes no time at all to haul up my bear bag, and use this to secure the rope to an adjacent tree. Highly recommend for this purpose.

Tight Lines - No Knots

If you don't know knots - this is for you! I can tie all kinds of knots - but these are so simple, and easily adjustable and so quick that I perfer to use them over knots. Carbiner end is perfect for tents, tarps, truck beds etc. The look on peoples faces when I secure a load in a white water raft, or string a tarp in record time is PRICELESS!!!

Keep two of these with me at all times.

I love these things and always have two with me. Although I good with knot tying but this product makes life so much better and versatile when setting up or breaking down camp. I tend to use these where I need to keep things tight to a bight of rope or easy hanging of my water filter.

Makin hammock life simple

I have never bought a carabiner/rope tightener before. These lil gadgets are way cool for quick setup. I use them for a quick gear line when I am hammock camping or just day use. Super adjustable, super easy, not knot tying required !! You need to have some of these with your gear.

Does not hold securely

Purchased a set of these to be more secure than a taut line hitch in setting up a tarp in windy conditions. But in practice the rope slips with anything more than slight tension. Estimate with less than 10 lbs tension causes the rope to slip.
