Why We Like The Cochise 130 Dyn Alpine Touring Boot

The Cochise is Tecnica's bread & butter for backcountry touring, and this Cochise 130 Dyn is the stiffest option available for experts and heavier riders. A touch of carbon creates a powerful 130 flex that offers the torsional response needed for dropping powdery mountains, hucking off cliffs, and keeping upright in spring's icier conditions. We like this boot's remarkably comfortable fit that balances a precise 99mm last with Tecnica's thermo-moldable C.A.S. technology that can customize the boot's shape to our foot's contours after a quick stop at the local bootfitters.

Powerful do-it-all boot with one unfortunate flaw

I have used this boot about 90 days, having owned it 14 months. It's among the top boots of my life, and I would be happy to use it for resort and "side-country" skiing for the foreseeable future. It's responsive, comfortable, and at this point very dialed into my foot. The grip-walk sole, however, is in dire need of improvement. It is simply too soft. I have replaced the soles twice now, just from parking lot walks and maybe 20 touring days. I estimate the sole lasts about 30 days of this kind of normal use. Imagine if that were the case for your hiking boots! It would be preposterous. Based on the wear to the toe lip, I expect I will get maybe 100 more days on these before they become unusable. Hardening the plastics in the toe and heel would go a long way toward durability and longevity.

Great boot. Ugly Color

Love this boot. It truly does it all. Just wish they would go back to their orange color from a few years back. This reddish color clashes with my whole setup that I spent a lot of money on.

Perfect boot

I bought this boot after trying a few different pairs. They are outstanding. Solidly built with an extremely comfortable yet tight fitting liner. I heat molded the liner and have an excellent fit. Power transmission on the slopes is precise and effecient. The walk mode is great. Easy to engage and disengage with a large degree of movement. I have a relatively narrow foot, but the LV boots I tried were too tight. These are perfect.

Il meglio che si possa desiderare.

Ho usato tanti scarponi diversi, ma da quando sono passato a Cochise 130 ho praticamente rinunciato al resto. Scarpone unico! Flex perfetto.. Last ideale.. Ottimo in tutte le occasioni. Lo uso tranquillamente sia per uscite easy in moderato skialp, ma tanto e soprattutto in freeride. Anche con sci race da pista ho una sensazione di precisione e stabilità come mai me lo sarei aspettato. Super!
