Everything from the upper receiver, barrel and receiver extension feed ramps, they are perfectly set. The M-LOK rail is lightweight and sturdy, I can't think of a negative. It did require buying a Phosphate chrome lined M16 profile BCG. Add a Sig Romeo MSR and Juliette 3. 0x flip away magnifier matched set on sale. Just outstanding upper, my favorite AR!

Took it out to the range and had the hand guard almost completely come off. I loosened the bolts repositioned and tightened everything snug. After that I noticed one of the tension/anti-walk screws under the hand guard was missing. The other screw was loose and had no loctight on it. Photos are from after I repositioned and tightened the hand guard it still shifted slightly. I put a claim out to their warranty if I can get some screws sent out to me and a torque spec I’ll be a happy camper. Other than that it shoots great.

This is my third CHF FN barreled upper from PSA I've purchased over the last four years or so. Like the other two this one is reliable, accurate and looks fantastic. I put a premium PSA BCG and CH in it and added a 1x Vortex Spitfire and I have the lightest upper that I currently own. If I could still see my front sight I would have added a front and rear mbus instead of the Vortex. But unfortunately my eyesight is getting worse. But for you younger shooters, with the profile of this barrel combined with a front and rear mbus you would have something really light. This thing is deadly accurate out to 100 yards which is the longest distance I have shot it. I have about 600 rounds down the pipe. It shoots everything well. I shot Wolf Gold 223, 5.56 Federal AE and PMC X-Tac and some Remington 223. Zero function issues. I will just close in saying this is a nice, accurate, reliable and very light upper. When these 14.7 CHF pinned and welded uppers do come in stock they sell out pretty quick so you really have to be on the lookout for them.

I have purchased many uppers for far less money that had better quality than this upper. The flash hider looked like it was used on a previous firearm for years, the barrel was inspected with my bore-scope and found tool marks EVERYWHERE. I am looking to get my money back. So much for a recommendation from my brother-in-law to purchase from Palmetto. In my opinion this is the worse upper I've ever seen period!

This upper runs great! It’s light weight and accurate. Shoots better groupings than my 16 BCM upper. Paired it with a WMD bcg, Geissele super 42 buffer and spring, and a CMC trigger. Really happy with how this build turned out.

FN stamp on the barrel, the bird cage was timed properly and the pin weld was noticeable, but only because it needs to be, and was polished down to be flush. It's all solid. Put 100 rounds through it without any issue at all. Made for a great RECCE 14 build. Get it if you have been looking for a good 14.5" pin and weld job.

This is in my opinion one of the best bang for your buck quality uppers you can buy. The cold hammer forged barrel is amazing and quite accurate. I zeroed my rifle at 36 yards with a Romeo 1 red dot. Rounds stacked on top of each other with 62 grain federal as well as home front (Hornady projectiles.) easily MOA at 100 yards. Would highly recommend this upper. Oh and it is mated to a PSA lower with a PSA Nickle boron BCG.

I was stunned at how accurate this upper is. It's light weight and the tube is the right diameter to grip easily. The upper is extremely well constructed. I haven't had a chance to get this out to the range to see how it shoots, but so far I'm impressed. I have been looking at 14.7" pinned and welded upper for while now, and trying to get the best value I found myself coming back to Palmetto State Armory's 14.7" pinned and welded upper with the Geissele MK14 13.5" M-lok rail and this upper. While the Geissele MK14 and gas block are pretty bulletproof, I didn't feel it that I needed it for my applications. Out of all the options I looked at and compared, this and the Geissele MK14 14.7" pinned upper offer the best bang for your buck. The barrel is the main selling point for me, to get a 16" FN CHF chrome-lined mid-length 1/7 Government profile is going to cost you $299.The Barrels overall length is 16 1/8" with the A2 birdcage, with an overall length with the stock collapsed at 31 1/2". This is a whole 1 1/2" shorter than my S&W M&P-15 with its 16" barrel and A2 birdcage. Which is similar to my issued Colt M4, I also find it is more comfortable for me to clear rooms in CQB/ MOUT with the 14.5/14.7" barrel over a 16" barrel.Now that I have gone over some of the pros, here are some of the cons. The pin and weld job is pretty noticeable, and it looks like the other pin and weld jobs I have seen on FN rifles. The A2 birdcage looks slightly timed to one side, I'm sure it won't affect function but it still noticeable. the rail doesn't have a manufactures mark, although it is marked "Made in the USA". I have an idea of who makes the rail, but it would be nice to know for sure. And the finish on the rail isn't the strongest, I haven't even got it to the range for serious use and it is already showing wear. But even with the cons this upper offers you the best bang for your buck if you are looking for an affordable 14.5-16" upper for a service or duty/patrol rifle. I will take this set up over my issued Colt M4 any day! The most I think I will do is either Duracoat or Ceracoat the rail and change the upper receiver to a more proven brand

Overall I feel this upper is worth the price. I like the handguard shape and the finish is the same color as the receiver. The barrel came with some storage oil on it that was tuff to clean off. The only issue I have and it’s not really an issue is the flash hider is timed slightly to one side. Otherwise a great looking upper.

I don't normally write reviews but felt the need to do so this time I installed this upper on a PSA lower that I just finished and took it to the range now I own about 20 ARs and have had over 50 in my lifetime so just to see what else I would need to change to make it a good truck gun because there's always something. I shot this rested 10 round group at 100 yards with a Romeo 5 set on low on a overcast morning just to get on paper and much to my surprise this is what I got unbelievable. Thinking I won't change a thing!!!

Great upper. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a pinned and welded 14.7” barrel. So far very accurate and reliable Only downfall is the difficulty of replacing the flash hider with a comp or other accessory. But if you are good with a standard bird cage its good to go.

This is the upper. I had a 10.5 inch heavy barrel 300 blackout. I swapped it out for this one and I have a “16 inch“ upper in 556 it’s actually lighter than my former 10.5 inch barrel. I can hold my rifle with one hand right at the mag well.. it is that light. Perfectly balanced. There’s something that feels good inside knowing you spent your money on a high quality barrel and bolt carrier group when your out shooting or leaning it against the wall for home defense

Very nice upper. Initial inspection it looks on par with a BCM in build quality. Time and use will tell. For the price for a CHF barrel, well worth it. It is a dark, shiny finish, a lot like the BCM upper I also just purchased. This means it probably won't match many lowers, but if you are into "pretty guns", you might need professional help... Check weight. I couldn't find much in the reviews or Q&A so I weighed it. One weight is with a BCM mod 3 CH and the PSA carpenter 158 Nickel Boron BCG (3lbs 12.4oz). Lighter weight is just the upper (2lbs 15.7oz). Side note: I've noticed my scale tends to read almost an ounce heavier than the USPS scale when I ship stuff...

Absolutely love this upper. The fact it’s pinned and welded from the factory and it’s their lightweight version makes this a great easy setup to run around and train with. Quality was on par with everything else I’ve bought, and the PSA upper and lower that I got together fits super snug with zero wiggle.

I had no issues whatsoever. Remove the handguard to make sure everything is tight and lined up which it was. Royal Arms lower paired up nicely with the upper. Dropped in a toolcraft nickel boron BCG and running a Franklin Armory BFS. Like others have stated this is absolutely my go to AR out of the safe room. Super lightweight build for me at 61 years old.

Very impressed with this entire upper. Light weight and easy to throw around. Chrome lined barrel and chamber is very easy to keep clean. Nice accurate barrel, shot under 2 inch groups at 100 yards. I'm sure it could do better with a better shooter, lol. I am very satisfied with my purchase!

I was new to the AR platform when I purchased this. I wanted something slightly shorter for home defense. Really wanted a premium barrel. Amazing build quality. With my magnifier and red dot I have no problem shooting very solid groupings. Fits perfectly in any case. The full build is very lightweight with this upper.
