As a Law enforcement officer I have used various ammunition.. I have found that Hornady 9mm Luger + P 124 grain has the most effective stopping power. Therefore I would highly recommend using for home defense or as a duty load.

These rounds feed perfectly through an FN 509 compact and tactical. The compact is a 3.7in barrel, and the tactical is a 4.5in, in case it helps anyone. They are accurate, reliable, and I haven't had a misfire yet. These rounds resist corrosion well....

These rounds are great! Needed a high velocity, heavy bullet for my subcompact that didnt have crazy barrier pen, like my Critical Duties. These stepped up. Low recoil for a +P and cheaper than Critical Defense or Underwood. Now my EDC.
