Garmin Edge 1040 Solar GPS Cycling Computer
Really cool device… I previously had a garmin 830 which I have used for a couple of years, but as a fan of new gizmos and devices when I heard there was a solar charging bike computer with more functionality I thought it was worth the investment. I will say this is definitely a luxury device, to realistically benefit from the solar power production you will need to spend 100’s of hours monthly on your bike. Thus you have dreams of going pro, you are pro, or you have the means to spend that time on a bike. As far as the 1040 Solar itself there is lots of cool data outputs and workout analysis. I would definitely recommend the device, but would concede you could get something else with similar functionally that’s not as salty, you just might have to charge it a bit more.
