The best travel sandals. Period.
The best travel sandals, period. Spent almost a month in SE Asia and walked in these every single day; I love that they’re adjustable, so if my feet got swollen from walking or the heat, I could adjust them accordingly. Perfect amount of support on the arch, and a good light-enough weight. Sometimes they felt a little little hot on my feet (from my own body heat), but it wasn’t anything that bothered me much. These pastel colors go with everything, so you can dress these sandals up or down. Truly a gem for the feet, so SO happy with these!
Bad improvements compared to my old Teva.
I've had the Teva Hurricane sandals for about 15-20 years. Loved them. The sole is coming off the main part of the sandal (maybe cuz I throw them in the wash) so I went to purchase new ones. The new Hurricane sandals have a hard rubber sole which seems a bit slippery compared to my old Hurricane sandals have a grippy rubbery sole which I love. The sandal seems cheaply made now due to this material change. I feel like I would slip on my hardwood floors with the new Tevas. The foot bed is harder and flat and very cheap looking too. Mine old sandals have a curved softer foot bed that I love. Hmmm, Teva, why the change? It's not an improvement. The old model is SOOOOO much better.
FALLS APART!
POORLY made sandal, albeit comfortable & sturdy. IT FELL APART, just after 1 year with moderate use. Specifically, the sole separated/unglued from the base. Despite this MANUFACTURING DEFECT, neither Teva, nor REI were willing to replace the sandal. Prior to the separation (within the first few months) I could hear/feel something. I didn't return the sandal at that time because I couldn't seen anything wrong. BASED UPON OTHER REVIEWS, TEVA KNOWS OF THIS DEFECT, but refuses to even recognize it!
Horrible craftsmanship
Do not buy these shoes! We spent $82 on these shoes and wore for one summer in Colorado before they came apart between the footbed and the sole. I paid to ship them back to Teva one month after their 1 year warranty as a factory defect and they returned them saying that their policy is one year and they will not repair or replace them. Somewhere in the last 40 years, Teva became a cheap company who doesn't stand behind their product.
Arrived filthy, the review is not about the sandal
Sorry to give one star but I didn't expect the sandals to arrive with stones and dirt on their soles, and obvious wear. Wish the crew did a better job at expecting the item, or sell under used gear not as brand new sandals.
4WD for My Feet
Love these for kayaking, hiking, and any sport where my feet may potentially end up wet! Just took them on the Kalalau Trail (NaPali Coast) for a backpacking trip and they saved my life when it came to water crossings through rivers and streams, showering in waterfalls, and walking around camp. They’re grippy and good for everything! Love them much more than chacos because they are lightweight and have comfortable straps. Get yo’self a pair!
ABSOLUTELY OBSESSED!!
I am completely obsessed with these sandals! I’ve never hiked in anything but boots and I got the sandals for a trip that was canceled due to COVID, so I decided to try them out on the trail. I love how easy it is to adjust the sandals quickly and that (unlike other similar sandals) they don’t tighten as you wear them. They allow my foot to move and breath while I walk and there are no pressure points - they also make river/stream crossings a breeze! Your feet are very exposed, so I would not wear them on every trail, but they are lightweight enough to clip to your pack and wear them around camp and on the trail from time to time.
Fell apart within 2 years
I purchased these for paddle boarding, jet skiing, hiking, and the beach. They looked very rugged which is why I purchased them. Less than 2 years later they are completely falling apart. The glue that holds the sole together has basically evaporated and the sole is peeling in 2 pieces. This has also resulted in the straps falling off. Teva only offers a 1 year warranty so they will not replace them. It's too bad. I will never purchase Teva sandals again.
New Hurricanes Dangerous in Water
Awful! I am so sad and angry about how companies ruin a good thing. For Decades I have worn various Teva sandals on land and in water, serioiusly 4 decades. These new ones nearly caused me injury in the river yesterday, and this is not an exaggeration. ZERO and I mean ZERO traction in water. In fact it felt like I had oil on my shoes and the rocks did too. Sadly, I've lost or worn out old pairs. I'm returning these, something I never thought I'd have to do. Although, while I'm at it, another style for women was also ruined last year. They took away the back adjustment strap and the new shape is unwearable on my feet, had to return a pair last year. sigh. Chacos don't fit me well.
Cute and comfy, but I need to size up
I got a size 5 because I heard they ran big, but I’m usually a 5.5/6 size depending on the brand and style. They are a little wide, but I still find them to be flattering. I stubbed my toe recently, but I feel no pain in these as I am able to adjust the straps. Love them, but I think I’m going to exchange them for a 6 because my toes go a little too forward when I walk.
