Dark Skies at night for galaxy cruising and Panoche Valley for Hot Springs. Spring! Warm days, bright greens, flashes of bright flowers, birds, and butterflies. Cool evenings by a roaring fire with dark skies streaming planets and galaxies. In the oak studded world of the Diablo Mountain Range, the ocean influence sends gentle breezes winding their way through the oaks, offering shade and cool evenings as a respite through the warmth of the summer sun. Use this as a home base and spend days at Pinnacles, the hot springs, the beach, Monterey, Carmel, the Central Valley, and so on or...you can rest and relax the world away, this is a place to regain your balance; come with your cares leave clear and regenerated. This is a place to sing and dance, to talk late into the night as the night sky fills with stars and the campfire dies down. We are perfect for group gatherings, and can accommodate your large party as easily and comfortably as we accommodate families. What we provide is: outdoor hot shower, flush toilet, clean clear water from faucets, and at your campsite, a fire pit and grill to cook on, picnic table with benches, and the blue oak savanna. Firewood for $15/bundle, fire starters -first two free in the winter then $0.50/each. Our firewood is sustainably harvested from downed trees and branches. We sell it for a neighbor. No healthy live trees are harmed in order to produce firewood. No native trees are felled in order to plant fast growing hardwood for fire or anything else! Pitch your tent or park your camper amid the ancient Blue Oaks of California. Warm yourself by your campfire as you drink in the dark skies. Shake the dust off your work worn spirit.     We had another wonderful stay at this peaceful spot. We love how it's close to the Bay Area yet still offers dark skies perfect for stargazing. Veronica is a great host - warm, friendly, and always helpful. We're already looking forward to coming back!

    Camping here was very relaxing and enjoyable! The camping sites are generously sized and the views are amazing. It was an absolute pleasure chatting with Veronica about the land and conservation. Highly recommend!

    We had a great time. Tons of space. Particularly enjoyed our experience with host Veronica and our private art lesson. Campsites were clean and well kept. The ranch is quite remote but that was fine by us. Thanks for having us!

    Song of the Ancients - 2 Pumas
    Veronica was an amazing host. She greeted us upon arrival made sure to check on us during our two-night stay and we really enjoyed our time on her land. Getting there was pretty straightforward and the views of the stars were amazing. I could only imagine what it would be like with no moon as our moon was bright. :-) Perfect relaxation.

    Welcome Land Next to Pinnacles Park

    We had a great time disconnecting from the noise and hustle of the city. We visited in our RV and explored the nearby Pinnacles National Park and Mercey Hot Springs. There is plenty of space here even if we came back with a big group. Thanks Veronica for the hospitality!

    Lovely, quiet campsite with magnificent hilly views! Veronica is very sweet and has excellent knowledge of the area. Wine tastings available in Hollister and great hiking in Pinnacles NP. Check beforehand for their seasonal closure times for caves.

    Veronica’s ranch was beautiful and it was so nice to have convenient access to water and a shower to rinse off. Proximity to Pinnacles was great, Veronica and Jamie were so welcoming and gave fantastic instructions to get on site without service. I felt so comfortable as a solo camper and would absolutely stay here again if I’m in the area!

    We loved our time at Song of the Ancients - 3 Coyotes! There was a lot of space for multiple tents, and having access to a flushing toilet and outdoor shower was wonderful! Veronica was so kind and very helpful! We would definitely go back in the future!

    We had great stay at Song of the Ancients. Everything was as described. Thanks to the shade we were able to easily survive quite hot weather. Perfect option to disconnect yourself for couple of days and enjoy the wilderness.

    Our group of 8 families loved camping here. There was lots of open space for the kids to roam around and play. Veronica, our host, was responsive and provided art supplies for the kids. The only downside was that it happened to be very windy during our stay, so lots of dust blowing around. Close to Pinnacles - we loved hiking and exploring the caves there.

    We had a great time camping on Veronica’s land! The campsite was flat and well shaded, had 2 picnic tables, a firepit with grate, and a coffee table and chairs by the ravine. There was a clean flushing toilet and shower with hot water. Very nice amenities for camping. Peaceful with great stargazing visibility.

    First time to Song of the Ancients but it definitely will not be our last. Veronica was a wonderful host showing us around and telling us about the surrounding area. Her land is beautiful and silent which was absolutely wonderful!! We will see you again soon!

    My partner and I had a lovely time enjoying Veronica’s beautiful land filled with so much life. Being out here really makes you stop to appreciate the little things in life. We were greeted by birds in the morning and ended the days with killer sunsets. Veronica is a lovely host and has so much wisdom to share about the land. Definitely pick her brain about the blue oaks if you can! Would highly recommend checking this spot out!

    Even though I only camped 1 out of the two days due to clouds on the first night, I enjoyed my stay under the dark sky and took advantage of it to do some more astrophotography. Spotted a fox a few miles before getting to the site and a family of deer the next morning when I was leaving, so that was great !

    I had a nice weekend camping on Veronica's land. The site number 3 was private, there was a nice small hill to pitch my tent on, and the starry night sky was great. I had my telescope with me, and this was a good place for doing astrophotography, no light pollution. And Pinnacles national park is nearby and a great place to do some hiking daytime!

    We had a wonderful time camping here. We brought our two young sons and they loved it. The “volcano” and all the critters were huge hit! Veronica was so kind and had such great knowledge about the land and all the critters as well. We loved how private the site was but also how easy it was to walk to the bathroom, shower and water. The oaks gave us some nice shade during the day, the views over the meadows were stunning and the stars at night really were breathtaking. We cannot wait to come back again! Thank you Veronica!

    Jaimie was very communicative prior to our trip and made everything easy. Veronica met us when we got to the site and welcomed us with a tour of the land and amenities. I would highly recommend staying here, site 4 specifically as it’s away from others and has a beautiful view of the valley and hills. We loved seeing the bunnies and ground squirrels running around and plenty of birds like California quails.

    The host was very pleasant, friendly and attentive. The directions were clear. The views were beautiful. Mother Nature provided overcast skies, so our desire to stargaze on the night of the new moon didn’t happen. Next time. We enjoyed the blue oaks, beautiful hillsides and wildlife. The potable water, flush toilets, and hot/shower were an added plus.

    Veronica was very sweet and helpful. She just radiates joy when you speak with her. There were a ton of bunny's and we heard so many animals during our stay. A few cows, coyotes, and turkeys. The shower was really nice after hiking all day at Pinnacles NP. The drive to the NP was a breeze. The land was so beautiful making the drive not feel so long. I would say the drive was about 45mins. I also like how the hosts take wildlife into consideration and urge people to drive slow on the dirt roads to protect the little critters and their nostrils and lungs. All around, nice and relaxing stay

    What a beautiful camp site!! So peaceful and full of animals. We saw so many bunnies, birds, and even a toad. It was really nice to have a bathroom and shower too. Very convenient to visit Pinnacles. Would love to stay here again.
