Why We Like The Smartwool Thermal Merino Glove
Whether we are going for a hike or just sitting around the campfire, our hands could benefit from gloves in colder temperatures. The Smartwool Thermal Merino Glove is our go-to when we need a lightweight glove that will keep our hands warm and still provide us full dexterity. These gloves are made out of 100 percent Merino wool and are incredibly soft, warm, and odor-resistant. Lastly, touchscreen-compatible threads were stitched into the index finger and the thumb so we could still use our phones without removing our gloves.

Shredded after three months
I purchased these around the holidays and by the time march rolled along they were in shreds. Only worn driving. I think the gauge of the fabric is too thin for the stitching, and it shredded easily. One thing I will say is that Smartwool's customer service was extraordinary, and they right away issued a gift card which I had so much fun spending. Still #brandobsessed and even though they wore through they were biodegradable merino, so will break down.

Comfy but didn't last 2 wears
I wear it biking or snowboarding on it's own or under my mittens. Very comfortable and easy to use my phone but just poor quality.

I bought this product-THERMAL MERINO GLOVE several times!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product stretches with hand movements...holding and using a shovel; walking with a walking pole; and everyday use. It feels warm and cozy on the hands. I've bought several in different colors. Excellent product!

Worked great for a cold vacation

Went to an a Co-op store that "believes a life outdoors is a life well-lived!" Couldn't find what I needed so bought these from Backcountry. Need: 8 day vacation: London and Paris Weather: 29-51 degrees Born in Hawaii, grew up in California Bay Area. Lived in CO, Germany, Michigan for the Army and cold weather is NOT my style. Bought these liners to use with my current gloves. On vacation, I ended up using these liners everyday to keep my hands warm and used my other gloves over them on a long day outdoors. They worked well and kept me from touching things (most folks in our group caught a cold). Currently use these liners under my 3-season motorcycle gloves for my morning commute. They are great so I don't have to buy another pair of gloves that I may use 1/12 of the year. I wear the liners on my morning jogs/walks and work well. Four stars for fit, warmth, portability, and the multi-colored tab to pull the glove on. One star taken off: while the index finger worked well with my iPhone, the thumb didn't. The material was not placed well for pinching or taking pictures.
