This was my first pistol after doing research on youtube. I like the fact that it comes with (2) 20-round Magazines plus I bought (2) additional. I'm looking forward to putting a red-dot site on the rear end as it comes with (4) mounting plates and cleaning posts to clean the barrel. My wife used it on date night at the range and had very little recoil. She was comfortable shooting this pistol for a 9mm. Bought a hard case with it and I'm all set for the range and home defense.

I bought one today and immediately put 100 rounds of target ammo (115gr FMJ) through it, then 20 rounds of carry ammo (Underwood 90gr Xtreme Defender). It functioned flawlessly.I have been a 1911 snob for many, many years. A 1911 trigger snob, specifically. The trigger on this Canik is as nice as any trigger I've tried on any non-1911. I don't like how much take-up there is, but it's not bad. And the reset is super short. Once I'm on it, this thing just rolls! I tried (dry fired) a CZ TSO a few weeks ago and I am just as impressed with the trigger on this as I was with that $1700 CZ. Maybe the take-up on the Canik is just a smidge not-as-nice. But, for the price, I am beyond happy.I saw another review that said it only came with 18 round magazines. Well, I don't know what that guy got in his box, but mine came with 2 mags. They both have 18 holes on the back, so you can see when there are 18 rounds in them. But, they both have the extended base pads and actually hold 20 rounds, as advertised. I assume that's because the actual mag tube is the same tube, whether you buy an 18 or 20 round mag - only the base is different.I'm not a precision pistol shooter, so I was way more than pleased with accuracy. The sights are not my favorite, but I'm planning to put an optic on it anyway, so I don't really care too much about that.In the box with the gun and 2 x 20-round mags was also an OWB Kydex holster, a bore brush and cleaning patch tool, a thicker back strap, 4 different optic mounting plates, and a little plastic box that contains a hex wrench, a Torx wrench, mounting screws and lock washers for the optic plates, 2 different height mag release buttons (1 taller and 1 shorter than what was installed), a couple of replacement fiber optic fibers for the front sight (1 clear, 1 red), and a pin that you can use to push out the roll pin that holds the back strap on. So, everything you need to change the mag release button or the back strap, or to install an optic.The only nit I can pick, so far, is that it doesn't feel as natural in my hand as a 1911 or 2011 (double stack 45). I was hoping the extra back strap was thinner than what was installed, but it's thicker. I do not have especially small hands. I am 6' 1" and I wear size L or XL gloves (for motorcycle riding, depending on brand). When I just naturally grip the Canik, my right hand ends up rotated just a little bit more CCW, towards the trigger, than is best. I have to consciously make myself grip it a little more to the back and reach further with my finger to get on the trigger. Hopefully, that is just something I'll get used to over time. Before I noticed it, the joint between my thumb and palm was starting to get a bit sore from shooting it with the grip that just came naturally.I picked this baby up on the Daily Deal and it is simply an unbelievable value for $499.99!

The Canik TP9SFX is one of the best gun deals on the market today. 500 bucks get you basically a complete starter pack (holster, warren sights, optics plates, cleaning kit, mags, speed loader, and more) and an amazing out of the box target pistol. I have used mine in classes designed for tactical operations and it performed flawlessly. I have thousands of round through mine and not a single Hangup.

I really enjoy shooting this pistol. Accurate and easy shooting. Quality impressed me. Good price from PSA. I've shot 600 rounds thru it without an issue. 124gr reloads mainly (from freedom). It's now my go to gun. I thought my Beretta 92S was good, but this seems lighter and easy to handle. Get this!

The Canik TP9SFx comes with industry standard dovetail sight cuts that are compatible with a large variety of aftermarket sights, Warren Tactical sights with red and green fiber optic front sight, a removable Red Dot cover with the rear sight installed in cover to eliminate interference with certain Red Dot sights. Also includes four red dot interface plates, a match grade barrel, improved single action trigger, lightening cuts on the slide, forward slide serrations, reversible ambidextrous cocking lever, and extended ergonomic slide release.
