Picture tells the story.

I hauled my kids around on these things many many years ago. The new Kelly ones is better. Less complicated than the competition and it fits.

small, and limited range of adjustment.

It does appear well made of quality materials. It is lighter than some of the competitors by more than a pound. I like the look but it didn't fit either myself or my wife. I'm 6'6", she's 5'9". The padding and ergonomics were poor. The range of adjustment was inadequate. My guess is that the design was for someone 5'5" or shorter, with a baby 30lbs or less on a day hike less than a few hours.

Well Designed

Although this is the smallest of the Kelty carriers, there is plenty of storage for my needs. One may want more storage if the carrier is used for long hikes. The carrier secures the child (22 pound,1 yr old in my case) very well. My "cargo" did not complain at all.

Underwhelming

I chose this for little day excursions and because of it's ample storage space. Overall, it's not a bad product for the price. I found it a bit tedious to get my little guy in and out. The seating space for the kid is good and the carrier comfortable. I'm pretty short and it was reasonably easy to adjust for a good fit. The instructions on how to get a good fit are really good. I did find it to be top heavy, especially once I put in our supplies into the storage space that is located on the top. I also found it a bit difficult to get on by myself once my little guy was loaded in. I ended up returning this item and I am much happier with the Deuter. I ordered this online since the stores were closed due to Covid. Truth be told, I would have likely not chosen this item if I had the chance to try different ones on in store.

Wonderful hiking pack for carrying a kid

Went on two hikes in redwood national park with a 14 month old. Very comfortable when hiking and our kid was safe and secure. I will enjoy hiking with our little one in the pack.

Great Baby Shower Gift

I'd used baby backpacks decades ago and found them indispensable for a father. Baby gets to go, dads hands are free for chores around the house and you are much more mobil than with a stroller of any type. The new father, an Eagle Scout, Fly Fisherman and generally outdoor type was overjoyed with this gift. Also this way Momma doesn't have to carry the load.
