Last night I did a night hike at Purisima Creek Redwoods Open Space Preserve with noworriesamigohikingclub, bayarearidgetrail, midpenopenspace, open_space_authority, mountaingalyoga, and she.hikes.too. It was such a fun event where I met lots of great people! Most parks nearby - including Purisima - are closed at night, so it was extra special to be able to do a night hike there. We were treated to a beautiful view of the sunset over the ocean at the start of our hike (seriously, my photos here don’t do it justice) and a great hike overall with some good elevation gain. ‼️🎥 WE’RE MAKING A FILM 🎥‼️
While something like this is super nerve wracking we are really excited to be putting together a film about my year skiing 3.59 million human powered feet. snowcrowcinema reached out in late December to come film for a day and well the project has spiraled in a beautiful way. We are still hard at work filming, finding, editing and all the other things I don’t know about that go in to a film. Can’t wait to have something for you all this fall 🍂🍂

The second half of our second day on the trail. This part of the hike was so unique, with river crossings, waterfalls and beaches all in the same day it makes for a very unique hiking experience. The coolest part was where we set camp for the night in the last few photos. The closest human being to us was 7 miles away with the closest civilization over 30. And with no cell reception this made for one of the most unique experiences I’ve ever had, it’s not very often you get to experience total isolation like this. It was very calming but also an unnerving experience that was enhanced by a storm front we watched roll in on us from the ocean.
I’ve never done brand photography before but it’s been a dream of mine to work for an outdoor company as a photographer. These were a few of my random attempts, (not sponsored lol) my family swears by darntoughvermont socks, we use them for all outdoor adventures. And my brother swears by vivobarefoot shoes, he did our whole backpacking trip in them which is quite impressive.

Some of the hardest-wearing, most comfortable, life-to-trail shoes we carry are the lemsshoes Outlanders! Case in point—this pair belongs to shaylinaromero, a global traveler, outdoor trekker, and all around great human! She’s worn her pair of Evergreen Outlanders on the daily since she got them over a year ago!
