This is a beautiful property, right along the river. The camping spots were clean and quiet and had good space between them. I should have read the description more carefully but there was no water at the sites. They did allow us to use their hose which was a few minutes walk from the camp sites. But it was challenging to do dishes and wash up. They had sinks at the vault toilets but no water in them. For the cost, I was expecting more amenities. But, like I said, it was accurately described in the listing. Good location for visiting North Cascades.

Beautiful campground. Heathers parents were lovely hosts. We even could rent a gas fire when there was a fire ban in effect.

There are many great things about this camp site. But, some things miss that miss mark. For example, they say potable water is available if you need it and then without warning or notice water gets turned off. There is very little signage available to find where you deposit garbage (no recycling available-a good thing to know). The pit toilet had a very very strong odor. It was clearly not serviced the whole I was there Friday to Sunday. The place is beautiful, Jim was incredibly friendly and provided the most information of anyone there and in face the only family/owner we ever encountered. It just has so much potential. I wanted to love it!

Site 2 - Cascade River Retreat
River front area was beautiful & walk in sites had nice privacy. Try to stay there if you can! We caught whiff of toilet from site 3 in the afternoon and were in a more open public area. Morning was fine, though 6am alarm from the local crows. Great location overall.

The walk in sites were amazing. Wonderful to sit down near the river on a semi-private site. The carts to haul our stuff back and forth we sturdy and very helpful. Looking forward to visiting again

Beautiful and quiet spot. No issues whatsoever. Very green and felt “in the woods.” No amenities-dry camping only

We loved Cascade River Retreat! The host was so helpful, letting us borrow a part we needed for our camp stove while we were there. The site was super private and the river in the background was like a natural white noise machine. We were close to beautiful hikes and river rafting. Would definitely stay again!!

Site 5 - Cascade River Retreat
We found this camp after rejecting our reserved spot at Lil Bit O’ Heaven (so close to main road with no privacy, 4 or 5 parking spaces close together with no privacy, just a parking lot vibe!). Drove further on to Cascade River Retreat and were so happy Site 4 was available! Nice flat grassy spot with room and bushes/trees between large sites. Easy walk to clean, well-lit bathroom. Beautiful walk past tent sites to rocky river beach. Not sure if the two Adirondack chairs there were someone else’s or the campground’s, but they were a perfect relaxation/reading spot for the end of the day. Campsite was so nice we booked Site 5 for the next night. It was next to the bathroom and the parking for the walk-in tent sites, but still had a good green buffer between the site and that. Great location and great sites!

Great campsite with easy access to the river. Bathroom is a pit toilet a 2 minute walk from the site. Owners (and their dog) were super friendly and accommodating.

Site 8 - Cascade River Retreat
We try to make it here at least once a year - our favorite spot for sure! Site 8 was private, decent size for our 18ft trailer, and a close walk to the river. Can’t wait to come back!

Sleeping hearing the river flow is really relaxing and almost like a white noise. Sitting by the river is also great and there are two chairs that you can use if they’re not taken. The parking for the walk in site was full one night so we parked on the road and heather didn’t mind. While there is only one bathroom for a lot people , there was rarely a line. Sometimes the neighboring folks were a bit loud when they walked in the path but overall the river drowns out most everything.

Great location as an easy launch near so many wonderful North Cascade hikes. Peaceful and quiet even with a full campground. Fun to dip in the beautiful river after a day on the trail. Thanks!

Site 5 - Cascade River Retreat
Exceeded our groups expectations! Spent a glorious day hanging out on the river. We stayed in site #5 and it was spacious enough for 3 cars, 3 tents, a canopy, and still plenty of space to not feel crowded. You are close to the other campers, but no closer than you’d be at a state park. Everyone was super respectful. We enjoyed having cornhole to play with in the communal area. We loved it so much we are planning to do an annual group trip there!!

Site 7 - Cascade River Retreat
Such a wonderful spot! Heather is very gracious and helpful! The river is only a quick walk from the campground and it is gorgeous! Site 7 was great! Large in size and a bit more privacy than the other sites! The vault toilet was very clean as well! Highly recommend! We’ll be back!

Wonderful site- very private with a lot of buffer from other campers. Really large- we had a small 18’ trailer and could have easily added a tent or even two. Walked down to the river past the walk-in tent sites and they were very nice sites.
The only issues might be waiting for the single bathroom (fortunately we are self contained) and as others have mentioned finding water isn’t obvious. We filled our tank before arriving and Heather said they could have accommodated us if we needed but it didn’t appear that it would have been easy.
Also, I recommend arriving the first day before dark or you could be very confused! Well worth the short drive off the main road though not to be on top of your neighbors!

The setting was amazing. The river front was lovely. When we arrived the camp site was prepared and ready to go. I will definitely be back - the proximity to so many wonderful hikes and experiences in and around N Cascades National Park was perfect.
