Everyone should have one!

We buy one of these at REI every year. It is one of our favorite pieces of gear -- nice color, fits perfectly (into the compartment of our car), and provides access to many beautiful places we couldn't go otherwise. Everyone should have one, especially you scofflaws who leave your car just outside park boundaries and walk in without a pass. Hope you (and there are lots of you) are grateful for the rest of us who are more than willing to pay to maintain and improve our park system.

They already put the starting month on the pass before you pick up this. This means, for example, if you place an order in August and pick up in September you will get the pass that expires in August following year not the one that expires in September. Store representative refused to update the month on the pass and asked me to purchase another one. You gotta deal with the frustration at the store.

Shame on REI

The pass was fine but the PACKAGING! and from a supposedly eco-friendly company. The pass came in a box full of packing material and this one sliver of paper. This item should have been mailed in an envelope.

Priceless

I hung this from my mirror at the trail-head before setting out on my hike. When I returned 5 hours later, it was still hanging there right where I left it, and no parking ticket. This thing really works!

I use my Pass on the Columbia Plateau Trail often. It’s handy to have while I contribute to the park system.

Discover with Your Discover Pass

As a nature and forest therapy guide, I'm always looking for wonderful trails. The area I found required a Discover Pass and I have put it to good use all summer and will continue to do so throughout the winter for personal hikes or while taking others on wonderful forest bathing adventures.

Hiking pass

It is easy to get and if you are going to go hiking more than once, it is worth it to just get the pass. And it might get out you to go out more since you paid for the pass.

Easy Renewal Process - Discover Pass

My Discover Pass - Annual Renewal was fast and easy from the first phone call to inquire about how to do it to picking it up (my choice) at REI. I was also happy to know that the year starts from the date of renewal, not at the beginning of the year. I also presented my disabled placard to receive the pass at no charge. I am also a senior.

GO FOR IT!

What can I say? This little gem, when hanging from your rear view mirror, allows the entire carload of you to go to, park in, and explore ALL state parks in Washington. It’s a tremendous bargain since it’s an annual pass. And it funds the upkeep/maintenance on our parks (yes, that includes restrooms). It’s possibly the main reason our Washington parks are pleasurable to visit..they are clean, neat, with well-kept trails and facilities. A one-day pass costs $10.00. So why would you not get an annual pass if you live here? I do and I did. I’m happy to help maintain these gorgeous parks by purchasing a pass for $32 at the REI Ranger’s Desk. Yep - just $32 for one entire year, good at all Wa state parks as often as you want for ONE ENTIRE YEAR from month of purchase…for your entire carload!
